Family
Vernon is my oldest; he's grown up a lot in the last few years. Where a lot of his friends still can't even fend for themselves (or seem to want to), he has taken the initiative to establish himself and often finds he's the "safety net" for others now. Vernon has an interest in hiking the Appalachian Trail (which runs from Maine to Georgia) some day. Vernon is separated from his wife. Vernon was born in San Diego in 1985. | What can you say when your own "babies" start having babies? Krystal is my next oldest--I remember how much my mom loved having her sit with her in the rocking chair when Krystal was only two years old. And now, Krystal has made me a grandpa with precious little Lauren; my heart swells whenever I see the baby. Krystal was born in San Diego in 1986. Here, Krystal is at Vernon's house and you see in the baby's face how much she loves her mommy! Krystal's boyfriend is Nick. |

Robyn had an auspicious entrance into the world--she was born the same day my mom died. I would have to say that Robyn is the most protective of me. Robyn is going to UNM and is currently in her third year; she's majoring in Criminology with a minor in Psychology. Chauntel is growing up whether the world is ready or not; at 17, she already had her own apartment and she has held a job now for almost two years! Chauntel really loves her boyfriend, Ben and he seems to be a really good guy--someone who wants to work and make a career for himself. Chauntel was born in 1992 in Mesa, AZ. Note: I'm not sure what it means ... nor whether it is meant to have any "meaning"--it's probably just a strange coincidence .... but all my children were born on either the 17th or the 24th of the month (and, were born on either a Wednesday or a Friday)! I'm not into Numerology--and when it comes to interpreting symbols, I've been out of practice for many years. But, this arcane fact is something that I did take notice of ... and, it does give me the chills sometimes (or, to put it another way ... it's spooky!).
