The Loretto Chapel, famous for an unusual spiral staircase considered to be an exceptional work in carpentry:  it ascends twenty-feet, making two revolutions, without the use of nails or center-support.  The carpenter and the construction of the staircase are considered both miracles by the Sisters of Loretto.

Our good friend Zozobra ... who's going to grow up to be Old Man Gloom next September.  Here he is in the Historical Hysterical Parade at the end of Fiesta Days in Santa Fe (the burning of Zozobra kicks off the Labor Day event).
