The Plaza Hotel--built in 1881--anchors the Las Vegas Plaza on the north-west side.

The Plaza Hotel appeared in the 1998 movie, John Carpenter's Vampires.

The lobby of the Plaza Hotel.

A photograph dating to 1887 showing the Charles Ilfeld Building--into which the Plaza Hotel has now expanded.

The Charles Ilfeld Company building, next door to the Plaza Hotel and now a part of the hotel.

A secondary lobby in the Charles Ilfeld Company building; the open door leads into the hotel ballroom.

The gazebo in the park on the plaza.

This old bank building, on the corner of Bridge Street and S Gonzales, is now the West Las Vegas School District office.

Looking down Bridge St. in downtown (which is actually, West Las Vegas).

The old Firehouse.

A quaint one-screen theater.  One movie, one time.

The concrete bridge for which Bridge St. is named--crossing the Galinas Creek.  At the time of this photograph (01/18/2010), the bridge was 101 years old.

The bridge was built in 1909.

Galinas Creek--which divides Las Vegas into two sections--West Las Vegas and Las Vegas; both have a rivalry with each other like Old Town and New Town in Albuquerque.
