| Haunted History Tour New Orleans I've been on two ghost tours in the French Quarter: In June, 2000, Vernon, Robyn and I took the New Orleans Ghost Tour. This time (June, 2010) Robyn and I took the Haunted History Tour. | | Haunted History Tour meets up at Rev. Zombies' Voodoo Shop on St. Peter Street. | | Our tour guide was Adam--here, the group is in Pirate's Alley where Adam introduces himself and sets the stage for the ghostly stories to come. | | On the other side of St. Louis Cathedral in Pierre Antoine Alley, Adam tells the story of Bloody O'Reilly. | | The group (or "my babies") as Adam would call us--across the street from Madame John's Legacy on Dumaine Street. Taking photographs was encouraged in the hope that somebody might catch something in the picture. | | Robyn took a series of pictures at Muriel's Restaurant at the corner of Chartres and St. Ann. This room was a slave-holding area back in the 1800s. Out of a series of shots, this woman suddenly appeared in one of them. I call her "ghost woman" because it was creepy to surf through all of the shots and suddenly see her in one, and in not any of the others. | | The half-way point and fifteen-minute break for the tour took place at Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop at Bourbon and St. Phillip Streets. You have to love the concept of being able to buy a hurricane in a plastic cup and sipping on it while touring the Quarter listening to ghost stories! | | The ghost tour at the Lalaurie Mansion--the most haunted house in New Orleans. Adam explains how actor Nicolas Cage owned the house for a couple of years and would greet the ghost tours every night when he was home. Cage also provided a few embellishments such as a sign and several fake skeletons here and there (which still remain). Adam said Cage wouldn't allow ghost hunters (like TAPS) into the home out of respect for the ghosts. | | | Alas, the ghost tour comes to an end and Adam leaves us at St. Louis Cathedral at about 10:15 at night. Thanks for the tour, Adam! http://hauntedhistorytours.com/ | | Though this photo wasn't taken on the ghost tour, it was taken at the Andrew Jackson Hotel which is thought to be haunted; one of the manifestations is children heard playing in the courtyard. One night I heard just that (if ever so briefly!). Robyn grabbed the camera and started taking pictures. This orb showed up in one of the photos! The air was so humid, damp and heavy that I feel there is no way this could be a dust particle floating in the air and caught by the flash. | |
Ghost Tour of Old Town Albuquerque | Annette giving the ghost tour mascot a hug just before our tour through Old Town on Halloween night in 2009, | | | David, our tour guide, tells about Sarah Ruiz haunting the Church St. Cafe. | | David looks phantom-like walking down the alley while the rest of us hear the story of Scarlett, the prostitute who haunts the Covered Wagon. | | Annette enjoys the last few bits of the Scarlett story while at the intersection of San Felipe St. and Old Town Rd. | | Ghost tour guide Jessica leads the way down Old Town Rd. Our guide relates at this point that, though Old Town is indeed historic, most of the buildings were originally in Victorian-design and the city "pueblo-ized" it during the '60s to turn it into a tourist attraction! | | David and Jessica looking like ghosts themselves while telling the story of the Hatchet Lady in the Hacienda Plaza. | | | Inside La Capilla de Nuestra de Senora Guadalupe ("haunted chapel" for short) while hearing about the Lady in Black who allegedly haunts this building. Meanwhile, an "orb" shows up in my photograph in the upper left part of the photo near the arch. It is a ghost? Or is it dust? | | The end of the ghost tour at the haunted chapel. | | On a later outing (November 7, 2009), Robyn and I retraced the ghost tour route and took more pictures: in this photo, an orb appears just right of the fireplace opening. This is the Hatchet Lady setting. | | Back in the haunted chapel, the photo comes out a little blurry however three orbs are visible over the candle holder on the far wall. Again, specks of dust or spirits? I have my own idea as to what constitutes "ghosts"--that is shared elsewhere on this website.

Haunted Vegas Tour Las Vegas On June 12, 2009 at 11:00 P.M. at Green Valley Park in Las Vegas--Robyn with ghost tour guide Jac Hayden. | | The Haunted Vegas Tour bus at Green Valley Park. The park is located at Pecos Rd. and Milcroft Dr. in Henderson, where two boys were found murdered back in the '70s. The body of a 29-year old man was also allegedly found at the park. Strange paranormal things happen near picnic tables and a barbeque pit. | | Watch out for this zombie-like creature coming at you from out of the dark! | | Tour particpants are searching for ghosts at the park near the barbeque pit and picnic table. | | Robyn talking to Jac. Meanwhile, there is an orb just to the right of Jac's head! It's not easily seen unless the photograph is back-lit by an electronic photoframe. This orb went undiscovered until the photo was downloaded into a photoframe I have at work. Orb: ghost or dust? | | | A bunch of orbs are in this photo! Out of a number of pictures taken at the park, this is the only one with multiple orbs--and the only other picture with an orb is the previous one, above, with Robyn and Jac. All the other photos--with flash, or not--are clear.
