It seems that every historic New Mexican town has an old one screen walk-in theater--and Clovis is no different. Some are open and in business, and some are not.

Clovis was the location where Buddy Holly and the Crickets and other pop stars in the 50's recorded some of their songs at the Norman Petty Recording Studio. The Cricket's "That'll be the Day" was recorded in Clovis.
The Hotel Clovis, once the tallest building between Albuquerque and Dallas, TX, opened for business in October, 1931. The hotel closed after the Santa Fe Railroad discontinued passenger train service to the city.
