Downtown Albuquerque.
Downtown Albuquerque.

Albuquerque at night from Embassy Suites on a hill near I-25 and Lomas Blvd--a view almost reminiscent of Las Vegas.  From left to right:  Bank of Albuquerque, Hyatt Regency, Doubletree Inn, Bank of the West (dark building with name lit), Compass Bank, Wells Fargo (green building), District Court and Metro Court.

Isotopes Park, where the Albuquerque Isotopes play (within walking distance of where I live).  The Isotopes were named during an episode of the Simpsons when it was stated in a news report that the Springfield Isotopes were moving to Albuquerque.

The Albuquerque Dukes used to play here when the ballpark was the Albuquerque Sports Stadium; the Dukes moved to Portland, Oregon to become the Beavers, and the stadium was completely torn-down and rebuilt to become Isotopes Park.

The "Topes" first started out as the AAA team of the Florida Marlins--but, prior to the 2009 season, the Dodgers acquired the Isotopes as their AAA affiliate--once again having a presence in Albuquerque as when the Dukes were the Dodgers Farm Club.  The Marlins took over the New Orleans Zephyrs.

The Isotopes in this particular game are playing the Las Vegas 51s (who, in 2008, were the Dodgers AAA club).

The Sunset Drive-In movie theater at the intersection of Isleta Blvd, Goff Blvd, and Arenal Rd.

These photos document the condition of the drive-in as it appeared on July 2, 2009.

The movie screen is in remarkable condition.  A few tens ouf thousands of dollars and this theater could be up and working again!

The speaker poles are still in place.

The theater entrance.  The place is private property with the owner living on it.

The ticket booth.  The projection and concession building is over-grown with foliage.
